Comment spammers are out of control.

Yesterday I had to delete almost 3,000 comments that came in a matter on only 1 day. They commented in almost every post I have ever wrote as well as on every picture I have in my gallery. In fact as I was deleting, they were posting. I’m pretty sure they use a bot to do it, because the posts were time stamped only seconds apart.

It’s extremely nasty of people to do this, and I’ve had to disable allowing unauthorized comments as a result. Thanks for ruining my blog spammers.

Carpet Cleaner Spammers!

Rant on…

Everyday I delete about 80 – 100 bogus comments from someone posting links for some stupid carpet cleaner. You would think they would get the idea when I keep deleting the comments, but they keep doing it. They must be using a bot of some kind because no sentient being could be that dumb!

If you want your links to stay put Mr/Mrs Carpet Spammer, here’s a deal for you, donate $1.00 to my paypal account for every comment you post, and I’ll stop deleting them, HA!

I’ll bet they still keep posting anyway, and make no donations. They are after all, just bots.

…Rant off.

I would actually be shocked if I got an honest to goodness comment that made a reference to the post the comment was made on. Not just some generic post that could apply to a bazillion other posts. Like the comment to my post about my father-in-law passing away, “thank you for the great information, I look forward to reading your next post” Uh yeah ok, DELETE. If the comment had actually said, “sorry to hear about your father-in-law…” it would still be there, even if it was from one of the carpet cleaner spammers. (Let that be a lesson Carpet guys!) At least I’d know the post were being read, hehe.

Anyway, that’s all for today.

Starting off a New Year, and putting another one behind me.

Well, another year has come and gone. The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of shopping, house cleaning, cooking, and entertaining. I cooked a big Christmas dinner for 15 on Christmas Eve, then a Breakfast for 12 on Christmas morning. Then last night I had 12 for a New Years Eve party. All that is left now is to take down the tree and decorations and get them packed away for another year. Once that is done, I can truly relax and unwind.

This Christmas was a bit clouded over by the unexpected passing of my husband’s father, but the dinner I had Christmas Eve for his family went pretty well. My Mother-in-law stayed with us for two nights and was here to help with the dinner and I think it helped her a lot to get through this tough time. I can only imaging how I would feel in her shoes, to lose your life partner would be devastating.

I am hoping to get myself feeling more healthy this year. I know I’m dangerously overweight and can feel the effect on my health. I am so tired all the time, and everything just hurts. My New Years Resolution is to simply feel more healthy and energetic. To accomplish this I think I might just have to go back on the anti-depressants. As much as I have been trying to avoid them the past few years, I can’t deny that they did help me out when I went on them for a couple years before. I have been off them for about three years now, and feel I have come full circle, meaning I’m back to where I was when I went on them before. They did help me then, I felt better, lost a lot of weight and had much more energy.

I also NEED to get feeling better so my husband and I can travel. I am hoping that we can take a week off in February and go somewhere warm. Away from all this winter humdrum. Winter does take it’s tole on me that’s for sure, and February is my worse month of the year. I’ve just about had enough snow and cold as I can take, and getting away for a week to somewhere warm would be great.

So that’s pretty much caps up the Holiday season for me. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year.

Such a wonderful thing Photoshop is :)

Playing around in Photoshop again, and removed some power wires from this photo I took of the tree in our front yard.
The Before & After plugin works awesome. :)

Tis the Season

I took this photo of the tree in our front yard tonight, and then doctored it up some in Photoshop (took out power lines and a stop sign). I think it turned out pretty awesome.

Merry Christmas Everyone.

Sad News :(

Bad news today. :(

My husband’s father passed away late last night. He was diagnosed with throat cancer a few weeks ago, and went downhill from there very fast. No-one expected it to be this fast, but he was so weak, and at 83 he just didn’t have the strength to fight.

My heart goes out to my husband and his family, it’s a horrible deal to lose a parent. I know first hand what they are going through, having lost both my parents in the past 5 years.

It’s been a very long day today, and I’m dead tied, so gonna go to bed early. Will talk more later.

Update on my husband’s COPD scare.

You are not gonna believe this…I’m going to start from the beginning.

My husband snores a lot, so he went to the doctor, and she sent him home with a machine to test for sleep apnea. and monitor his sleep for a few days. He did that, went back, and she says, nope, no sleep apnea. That was that, just gotta put up with the snoring.

Ok, so a few months later the doctor’s office calls and says that the Doctor would like to see him. I asked what for, and of course they were very cryptic with me. I told her he didn’t have any test results or anything we were waiting for. The lady says no, it was test results from a breathing test he had done. I said if you mean for the sleep apnea test, he’s already seen her about that. The receptionist says, no it was not that.

Ok, so off he goes to the appointment, comes home and tells me the doctor says he has COPD, and shows me a puffer and pamphlet she gave him on it. I’m like COPD? what the hell? That’s what my Dad passed away from only a few years ago. He says to me, no that was Emphasima you Dad had and I said guess what hun, they are the same thing. He was like, holy smokes, she didn’t really explain that to me.

OK, so now I’m angry and we are asking ourselves how the hell did she come up with a diagnosis of COPD with absolutely no prior tests. I was so worried because this is a serious disease, and seeing my Dad die from it was awful. The doctor had ordered more blood work and chest x-rays and wanted him to come back for another longer visit, so this time I went with him. When we got there she didn’t really know what we were there for and I was like, hey your office called us to be here for his blood work and chest x-rays that you had done. Oh yes, she says, and to talk more about the treatments for COPD. That’s when I said to her, “Could you please explain to us how you come to the diagnosis of COPD when there was never any tests done?” I told her, “Your office called and said his breathing tests were in and that’s why you wanted him here, however he’s never had a breathing test done”. She looked at my husband and said, “Have you never blown into a machine and had a test like that?”. He responded, “No”. She sort of gasped and then turned to her computer and pulled up the test results, which were NOT HIS!!!!!

Her office staff had scanned in the test results of someone else!

The Doctor apologized and kinda tried to make light of the error, and because I was so relieved that he didn’t have COPD, my anger didn’t set in until later when we got home. We had two weeks of worry and upset because of this mistake they made, and the poor fella who has COPD hadn’t been notified. Something like this just shouldn’t happen. I know mistakes happen, we are all human, but in that environment extra care should be taken so stuff like this does not happen. It’s inexcusable.

Anyway, I’m very relieved that my husband doesn’t have COPD, thank God for that.
